A student recently asked me if I worked out. His reasoning was that I looked pretty built. I was taken aback because I don’t think of myself as having a particularly gym looking physique. When I look at myself in photos. I see overweight and “fat”.
Tonight during a class I faced the mirror. Something I almost never do. It wasn’t really deliberate but as I began a routine of squats to “Sally” I noticed he was right. I really do have quite muscular shoulders.

Maybe I should take up power lifting.
Without reflecting thirst sentiments, lifting often has an effect completely different than what people think, especially for women.
It is a good community and it has health benefits.

I did some power lifting a few years back, well before children. It was a great feeling after each session to know that I was picking up, lifting & pulling heavier weights each session. I really would like to get back into it sooner rather than later.
The program I followed was Stronglifts 5×5.

Even doing body weight exercises can have a profound sculpting and power generating effect. You have a lovely shoulder to waist ratio that would only be augmented by tone. Gilding the Lilly isn’t always a bad thing.

You’re so blessed. You have a very young body. If I say something, you will block me. I am trying to be decent. I love every inch of you
